You could also have the counter tops repainted or retiled if you would want to. You will also need the tools and materials to make your bathroom remodeling project work. If you have a little bit of handyman in you then you can save yourself a handful of money by installing bath tub and shower fixtures yourself instead of hiring a professional contractor to do it for you.
Another thing that you could do to make your bathroom look better is to upgrade on your toilet. You could go all out and purchase a brand new toilet and install it yourself. If you are on a budget you can do things as little as just replacing the toilet seat with something that will match the theme that you got for the rest of the bathroom.
Some major bathroom home improvement projects when it comes to remodeling would be to get a new bathtub or get a new shower stall. This of course is more than likely the most expensive part of remodeling a bathroom. You will have to be careful what you pick to and make sure that you know why you are remodeling the bathroom in the first place.
If you are doing it to add value to the home then you would not want to buy a new shower stall and bathtub unless it was absolutely necessary. Some other options would be to get them professionally painted so they have a nice look to them, making them look like they are brand new even though they could just as well be 10 or more years old.
You could also replace the bathroom sink and or add another sink into the bathroom. There are sinks that will fit into the counter tops and there are also standing sinks that add a little more of a modern feel to the bathroom, but they are much more expensive than the standard bathroom sinks that are out there.
The choice is up to you when it comes to remodeling your bathroom and how much you want to spend on it. You can get the supplies that you need from your local home improvement store or if you are on a tight budget there are lots of bathroom accessories that you can purchase at your local department store.
